Alexandra-Maria-Lara

Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is an Romanian TV presenter and actress. She's most famous as the main character in Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. Alexandra was the sole child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At 16, she had already secured a number of TV roles including the lead role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Her highly acclaimed performance on the film for television that she made Der Tunnel paved way for some other memorable roles such as that as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially highly successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are also Oscar nominees featuring women. Alexandra has worked on several notable projects, both nationally and internationally. These include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French documentary about the history of Napoleon among others. The actress was also a member of the jury at the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
